The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-(UG), previously called AIPMT is an entrance examination in India for students who wish to study undergraduate medical (MBBS) and dental courses (BDS) in government or private medical/dental colleges in India. The undergraduate NEET (UG), for MBBS and BDS courses, is currently conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

  • Age Limit: Candidates must have completed 17 years of age by December 31, in the same year to be eligible for NEET Exam. There is no upper age limit for NEET Exam as per an interim order of the Supreme Court.
  • Number of Attempts: no limit on the number of attempts for NEET Exam.
  • Minimum Qualification: Candidates who have completed or who are appearing in class 12th with subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology can apply.
  • Exam Pattern: OMR Based
  • Mode of the exam: Offline
  • Exam duration: 3.20 hours
  • No. of questions in each section: Physics- 45, Chemistry- 45, Biology- 90 (Botany- 45, Zoology- 45)

The National Testing Agency of India conducts Joint Entrance exam (JEE) as a screening assessment for candidates who wish to join the premium engineering colleges in India.

  • Age Limit: The age limit for a candidate is not specified in JEE Main nor Upper age limit neither lower age limit the criterion of the same is been calculated on the platform of a candidate appearing or passed 10+2 or equivalent exam.
  • Number of Attempts: Candidates can appear for JEE Main for 3 consecutive times
  • Minimum Qualification: Class 12th Board exam/Intermediate examination or equivalent examination as listed by NTA
  • Mode of the exam: 3 hours long Online test, 4 hours for PwD candidates
  • Two-step process: JEE main, which is the screening assessment, and JEE advanced, which is the second stage of the test for the top 250000 JEE main winners
  • Medium 13 languages
  • Marking Scheme: 4 marks for each correct answer
  • Negative marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer in MCQ question, no negative marking in numerical based question
  • JEE Main: Single choice objective paper with equal weightage to Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
    • Held twice in a year in January and April
    • Admits to NITs, IIITs, DTU & Other Centrally funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs)
  • JEE Advanced: Two 3 hours long objective papers with equal weightage to Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
    • Held once in a year, mostly the 3rd week of May
